Alan and Vickie,
I just wanted to echo what many of the others commented on…thank you for the opportunity to have Katie be a part of my life. Your family’s struggle, although heartwrenchingly difficult, was the epitome of strength even in the most trying times. You guys are wonderful parents and your little boy is so lucky to join your family! Thank you for sharing Katie with me. I will never, ever forget her.

Even tough we have never met Katie’s story has touched me alot having a daughter a similar age to her.Thankyou for sharing her life with us. I wish ye both the best of luck with the new arrival and what a lucky little boy he will be having 2 fantastic parents like ye both…

I can’t add much to what my wife has said (but that probably won’t stop me). Thank you for your courage and candor. It was the example of people like you that helped so many of us walk on similar journeys.

I’m sad to see this blog come to an official close but how grateful I am for the friendship that has emerged as a result of our common bond….and how grateful I am for “Kisses from Katie”…a legacy that will bless so many in the years to come….a legacy that Katie’s brother will see and be a part of! It was fun to recieve our “Kisses from Katie” tshirts in the mail last week. When I handed them out to the family, my oldest (a brand new middle-schooler) unfolded it and said “Kisses from Katie? A Heart? Pink lettering? Thanks for the shirt, Mom, but I can’t wear this…what’s it from? Oh, Katie Manning!!” Without another word he took the shirt and proudly wore it to school the next day. Katie’s journey and your account of it has touched our family deeply and we will always have a special place in our collective hearts reserved especially for her. We love you two (soon to be three!) and are ever grateful for your encouragement and support in our own journey with Rudy. Blessings to you dear friends….

As much as I knew that this time would come, it helps to know that it is combined with much anticipation and joy that your son will bring you. We arrived home from vacation today to a package in the mail…our Kisses from Katie tee shirt. What a little spiritual gift it was to hold that shirt and read your final blog. Your sweet girl truely brought together a community of caring people. Your family has touched my heart and soul, and Katie will continue to live through those memories. I wish you much happiness in the future, and I hope you know that we will always be out here, to support your families and Kisses From Katie. Please call on us whenever you need!

Thank you Alan for sharing your most intimate feelings. You are an outstanding writer. Katie Alexa Manning is with me each day and I will never forget her. I happily await the birth of your son in December and hope to continue to share a lifetime with you and Vickie. Life continues after we lose someone we love but we never forget and actually gain strength from them.
